It is both uplifting and unbelievable how Sport can unite a nation. I am a firm believer that when times are tough and people are feeling negative, all we need is a National sporting win to raise spirits, get people facebooking and tweeting about how proudly South African they are, see strangers high-fiving one another at the Supermarkt check-out, and get us all feeling good again! We experienced that feeling of "Ubuntu" and euphoria over the Soccer World Cup, and the Olympics has us all puffing out our collective sporting chests once again: celebrating our Rowing team, our Swimmers and even revelling in the wins of other Nations.

Sport is a universal love and the Olympics is such a treat for us all: whether we are celebrating with friends or simply curled up on the couch each evening, everyone is glued to their television sets - with conversations bouncing between the 100 metre final to the female weighlifters to the fascinating sport of synchronised swimming!
